Service for the Home

Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

People: Amen!

Confession and Forgiveness

Leader: Since we are gathered to hear God’s Word and call upon Him in prayer and

praise, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one

another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free

ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the

infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of Christ,

and saying, God be merciful to me, a sinner.

People: Have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life.

(Take a moment for silent Confession). Amen.

Leader: God is a God of grace and mercy. Forgiveness is found in Christ alone who

died for our sins, conquered sin and death and lives and reigns on high so that we

might live in Him forever. Rejoice we are forgiven through the mercy of Christ our

Lord! Amen!

Prayer of the Day:

Leader: O God, by the humiliation of your Son you lifted up this fallen world,

rescuing us from the hopelessness of death. Grant your faithful people to share in

the joys that are eternal; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and

reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen!

Prayers

Use this time to take prayer requests. Please remember those on our prayer guide,

the homeless and those without heat. You can pray your own prayers or use the

following prayer to assist you:

Almighty God, giver of all things, with gladness we give thanks for all your goodness.

We bless you for the love, which he has created and which sustains us from day to

day. We praise you for the gift of your Son our Savior, through whom you have made

known your will and grace. We thank you for the Holy Spirit, the comforter; for your

Holy Church; for the means of grace; for the lives of all faithful and good people; and

for the hope of the life to come. Help us to treasure in our hearts all that our Lord

has done for us, and enable us to show our thankfulness by lives that our wholly

given to your service. Amen!
